WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As a PLC Programmer/VFD Field Service Representative you will perform all levels of repair and preventative/predictive maintenance on industrial automation equipment in the field across a broad industry base. Diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, understanding mechanical system requirements, set-up and calibration of VFD’s, AC Servos and PLCs are all within your capabilities.

 

We are specifically looking for a “Road Warrior” who is technically savvy as well as being a human-centric extension of our sales team. You must be able to work safely and effectively, as well as bringing smiles to our customers.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE PARTY

  • PLC/HMI programming:

    • Programming experience, Example: Rockwell PLC/RSLogix, Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Omron and etc. 

    • Experienced setting up, commissioning and troubleshooting DeviceNet, ControlNet and Ethernet/IP networks

  • VFD, Servo and DC Drives:

    • Knowledge of mechanical dynamics of various applications

    • Thorough knowledge and experience commissioning VFD and DC Drives

    • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair VFDs and other electronic equipment

    • Experience with AC Servos an asset

    • Medium Voltage VFD experience an asset

  • SQL database experience an asset

  • Instrumentation experience

  • Customer service:

    • Must have effective and professional communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to converse to other technical people and engineers

  • Ability to work across international borders and travel within the US and to Canada

  • Must be willing to work overtime and be available for on-call rotation if required

  • Ability to work in high pressure situations

  • Ability to work efficiently and reliably with minimal supervision (project management)

  • Must produce timely and detailed service reports

  • A safe work record

  • Adhere to company’s procedures and protocol

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Tech School or Journeyman Electrical with controls background as a minimum

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Industrial Automation

  • Customer focus, creative problem solver, and a desire to win

  • Professional demeanor

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Project management Experience

  • ** MILITARY EQUIVALENT GIVEN STRONGEST CONSIDERATION IN LIEU OF EXPERIENCE **
