Summary
The Fiberglass Laminator & Fabricator is responsible for the lamination of fiberglass material. This position involves, but is not limited to: sanding, grinding, structural glassing, flat table preparation and layout, fiberglassing, and fitting of parts and components.
Processes and methods used are principally closed molding, with occasional open molding.
The Fiberglass Laminator & Fabricator will work independently and with other team members and report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect, clean, and assemble molds before the start of work

Prep molds, sand, grind, and prep surfaces before lay-up of fiberglass

Select fiberglass, mat, cloth in accordance with lay-up schedules

Lay-up, fabricate, fit and install fiberglass components

Remove components from molds

Sand, grind, and prep surfaces for the next phase of construction

When open molding is used, mix catalyst into resin and saturate fiberglass material with the mixture using brush or roller

Perform daily housekeeping to keep the work area clean

Follow all BVC safety policies and act in compliance with all laws and regulations pertaining to the handling of hazardous materials

Perform other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by management
Required Education, Skill, & Experience

High School education or above preferred
-
Previous experience in working with fiberglass products a plus

Ability to work with hand tools

Ability to communicate (speaking, reading, writing) effectively with others in English

Regular punctual attendance is required

Wearing appropriate clothing (long pants or coveralls and long-sleeved shirts)

Willingness to work under pressure to meet deadlines
-
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

Ability and willingness to learn about fiberglass processes through training and ongoing personal study
Preferred Requirements

Able to pass an online respirator medical evaluation

Bi-Lingual a plus
Physical Requirements
Most of the time will be spent in a factory setting while standing, kneeling, stooping, and stretching (usual demands of the job). Some lifting and moving of heavy manufactured parts. Must have good eyesight, normal hand-eye coordination, fair mental capacity, and the ability to communicate with others.

Work Environment
Tasks are performed in a ground floor manufacturing facility. The work area is indoor, lighted, and heated, but not air-conditioned.
Work Schedule
Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly Position - Paid bi-weekly 40 hours/week
Monday through Thursday: 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
